Orange Eye Candy + A Weekend Challenge!

Hi there! I hope your Friday is moving along well and you find some creative time this weekend. As I've mentioned all week, our first Guest Designer, the super-talented Tanis Giesbrecht, is here today to share some SRM Sticker love.

I've worked with Tanis for a few years now and I'm proud to call her my friend. She's an incredible card maker -- she's a Caardvarks Crew Member, Salt Faith Designer, and Unity Stamp Co. Illustrator. Her talent runs deep, my friends, deep! You can view more of her work at her blog, Paper Canvas.

I asked Tanis to create a few cards with the color orange as her focus. Although I never wear orange, or buy decorative items in orange, for some reason I *love* crafting with it. Tanis said that she feels the same way, it's her favorite crafty color, too! Here's what she has for us today;

I love how she used 4 different SRM Stickers in a grid pattern for this card. It's neat and organized, and she let the stickers serve as her focal points.

Using one of our long stickers as a band across the whole card was a brilliant idea. So pretty, too!

Thank you so much, Tanis. You work has always inspired me and many others. You can see more SRM Sticker cards by Tanis when we sponsor a Caardvarks challenge on February 20th. In fact, the Caardvarks Crew will showcase a full gallery dedicated to SRM Sticker creations!

--------------------

Now, about that challenge. :) You are challenged to create a scrapbook page, altered item, card (whatever you like!), using the color orange. And...be sure to use stickers! They don't have to SRM Stickers. Strut your stuff, get crafty, and link up your entry via Mr. Linky below. I'll announce our challenge winner on Tuesday. Have your entry linked by Sunday night at Midnight, PST.

Mr. Linky is pretty easy to use. Enter your name then the url address of your blog post which features your entry. Be sure to link us to your blog post and not your main blog address. Have fun, can't wait to see what you have in store!

Mini Cards!

It was so much fun to wheel my scrap bucket up to my craft table, grab bitty pieces of my favorite patterns along with a few SRM Sticker sheets, and go to town. As I mentioned before, I use minis quite often, when sending RAKs (and prizes!). My mini cards never gather dust.

First up is a Valentine. I used a Cuttlebug postage stamp die along and a coordinating mini embossing folder. I sanded the image to pop it. I used only the "& Kisses" part of my greeting sticker since the 'love' part is in my focal point.

Here's a little thank you card. I have gobs of these Hero Arts patterned flowers and put them to use on this card. I used rounded gemstones to cover the holes that my border punch created.

I just want to say that I *love* my punches. I punched 3 circles from patterned Cosmo Cricket paper, misted and crumpled them, adhered them together, then placed a button on top. A "Merci" SRM Sticker finished it off!

I love orange for babies... I grabbed my circle and scalloped punches for this one, it was a snap. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for more orange creations by our first Guest Designer, the divine...
Tanis Giesbrecht

This is the owl card you see in the banner. I stamped the owl (Hero Arts), colored the image with Copic Markers, and trimmed it. The owl is so colorful and bold that a simple sticker greeting was all it needed.

I hope you've enjoyed the blog this week. Join us tomorrow as we wrap up the week with creations by Tanis! Are you feeling inspired? Are you seeing your stickers in a new light? How does a weekend challenge sound? Check back tomorrow for the details!

Happy Wednesday!

I'm sharing a few cards using one of my all-time favorite lines by Cosmo Cricket (a dear friend of SRM Stickers!). The large {hello} sticker, from our Quick Cards line, just pops off the vibrant patterned paper. I layered various patterns and used my Making Memories Slice machine to create a label to showcase the chipboard teacup. I used small blue crystals as the steam!

You can't even tell where the stickers start and end. They are crystal clear.

Ingredients:

"Quick Cards; Hello"

"Thinking of you"

Do you have your Design Team application to us yet? Get to it! :) Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a mess of minis. Mini cards are so fun to make, and a great way to put those little scraps to use. And, when you use SRM Sticker sentiments on them, they couldn't get any easier.

See you tomorrow! Don't forget -- on Friday I'll be showcasing our first Guest Designer. I tasked this talented designer to create using orange as the prominent color. Just so happens, it's her favorite color! Can't wait to see what she has in store for us...

More Love...

Hello! Thanks for stopping by. I have a few cards for you today, using our "Love" set of sentiment stickers, once again. The print on the stickers is dark and clear, even on patterned paper. Love that. I also love that after fussing and fussing over a card (like trying to tie a perfect bow!), my greeting is ready for me, and it always comes out perfectly.

Ingredients:
"Love"

I want to let you know that our monthly challenges begin February 1st. You'll be challenged to create a scrapbook page, card, altered item, whatever you like, using a certain technique or theme. We have gobs of prizes to give away and we can't wait to see what you can do with stickers! And, did I mention that our Guest Designers will be chosen from the challenge entries? Yep! Can't wait...

See you again tomorrow with more sticker stuff. :)

Applications for our new Design Team are rolling in -- thank you to those who have applied! Remember, you have until February 8th to apply. Click HERE to read about the Call.

MustangKayla

Congrats, ladies! Please email me with your postal addresses (email address is on the sidebar)!

About today's card... This one was quite fun to make because I worked with a few elements that I don't often play with; cork and acetate. I adhered the "It's your day to shine" sticker to white textured cardstock then trimmed the words I wanted to use. I'll use the remaining "shine" sticker for another card.

Ingredients:
"Thinking of You"

Be sure to come back tomorrow for more eye candy! And if you're not a follower already, you might want to be...you never know when your name might show up as a random prize package winner!

All you need is love

Hello! Are you feeling the love of Valentine's Day rapidly approaching? I am. That may be because I'm knee deep in helping my little girls create their handmade Valentines, one of our favorite projects of the year. Of course we're using SRM Stickers and I'll show you what we're doing next week. For today, I have Valentine cards to show you. I'm going to try to keep the pink to a minimum going forward, but indulge me for a bit, it's my favorite color. :)

I always try to embellish my envelopes when I'm giving or sending a greeting card. I put just a little somethin' in the lower left hand corner. Stickers from SRM's "Love" set are just perfect for this, as well as for my card sentiment!

I purchased these card bases and coordinating envies in bulk at my local craft store. The phrase, "Thank You" is written in the bottom right hand corner which doesn't work for me, so I simply covered the bottom section with a strip of patterned paper.

Ingredients:
"Love"

If you'd like your own set of "Love" stickers to jump start your Valentines, just leave a comment on this post by Sunday night, January 24th. I'll choose a random winner to receive this set, and post them on Monday along with a new project.

Have a great weekend! If you do something crafty with SRM Stickers this weekend, why not shoot us and email and tell us about it? Send some photographs of your project...you may see yourself featured here, on the SRM-Stickers blog! Email us at srmstickers.yahoo.com

Also, you still have time to enter our prize give-a-way by commenting on Monday's Post and 'following' our blog!

Just a Note

Welcome back! I have a few projects for ya today, I hope you enjoy. One of my favorite SRM Sticker sets is "Thinking of You". I love this set because it's extremely versatile, and the phrases are so uplifting and happy. They make me smile. :) I used the "just a note" sentiment a few ways, let me show you...

First up are a few notecards. They aren't exactly mini-cards, but they're not full sized cards either. I make a lot of this size, approximately 4x4", give or take a half inch. I use them when I'm sending packages to friends or to my scrappy sisters, and about once per week, I put one in my 7 year old daughter's lunchbox. She loves it when I do...she has kept all of her lunchbox 'love notes' for the past two years!

I used October Afternoon's "Road Trip" line for all of my projects today. The collection contains cardstock labels that work perfectly in showcasing my SRM Sticker sentiments.

A few days ago, when my girls and I were on our weekly trip to the dollar store to search for alterable treasures, I came across these tall notepads. They measure 3 x 7.5". Four pads for a dollar - can't beat that!

I created a cover for them but cutting a piece of double-sided, heavy-weight patterned paper to 6.25 x 7.5" then scoring it at 3" and again just a smidge over, to accommodate the thickness of the notepad. I attached the notepad to the back cover, folded over the front cover, and embellished. Once again, I used my trusty "just a note" sticker, layered onto a label.

The apple was cut from my Slice Machine, I added a few gemstones, and called it done. This is a perfect project for mass-producing, it's so quick & easy!

Ingredients:
"Thinking of You"

As promised, our Design Team Call posts at Midnight tonight! I hope you'll stop by and consider applying. If you don't already use SRM Stickers, you will LOVE them! Be sure to read yesterday's post, comment, and "follow" our blog to be in the running for our first prize give-a-way. See you tomorrow!

thank you, thank you, thank you

Rubber stamping and coloring are a passion of mine. It takes a lot of time but I love the effect. After spending a fair amount of time stamping and coloring, it's nice to grab a quick & easy sticker to use as my greeting.
